These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TypeSplit mobile application and the website at typesplit.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by:

By downloading, installing, or using TypeSplit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
TypeSplit is an expense splitting application that allows you to:
Account Creation: Cloud features (sync, sharing, collaboration) require signing in with Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. By signing in, you create a TypeSplit account linked to your authentication provider.
Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You should keep your sign-in method secure and notify us at support@typesplit.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and removes all your cloud-stored data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You may use TypeSplit for personal expense tracking and splitting. You agree not to:
You retain full ownership of all expense data, card names, participant names, and other content you create ("User Content"). By enabling cloud sync, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and transmit your User Content solely to provide the Service.
When you share a card, collaborators can view and add expenses to that card. As card owner, you control access: you may lock the card, remove collaborators, or delete it.
Free and Paid Features: TypeSplit offers free features (with limitations) and paid features available via subscription or one-time purchase. Current prices and terms are displayed in the app at the time of purchase.
Billing: Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund policies are governed by the respective store.
Price Changes: We may change subscription prices. Existing subscriptions continue at their current rate until the next renewal, at which point the new price applies (with advance notice from the store).
Cancellation: Cancel subscriptions through your device's subscription settings at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google. TypeSplit does not process refunds directly.
The TypeSplit name, logo, design, and application code are the property of TypeSplit. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
Open-source components used in the app are subject to their respective licenses.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Financial Calculations: TypeSplit is a convenience tool for tracking shared expenses. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of expense calculations, currency conversion rates, or settlement amounts. Users are responsible for verifying their own financial obligations and payments.
Currency Rates: Foreign exchange rates are provided by third-party sources for informational purposes only. Rates may not reflect real-time market rates and should not be relied upon for financial decisions.
Availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service. Local (offline) functionality is not affected by cloud service availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TypeSplit is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
You are responsible for losses caused by your unlawful use of the Service or serious breach of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. We will provide reasonable notice where possible, except in cases of serious violation.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. You may still delete your account and data. Sections that by their nature should survive (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law) continue to apply.
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, you may bring disputes before the courts available to you under applicable consumer law. For non-consumer disputes, the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, will have jurisdiction.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@typesplit.com. We aim to resolve disputes amicably. EU consumers may also consult their national consumer protection authority for further guidance.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
TypeSplit is not intended for children under 16. If you are under 16, you may use TypeSplit only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
If you believe someone is misusing TypeSplit or using it to share unlawful content, contact support@typesplit.com.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of the Service. We will notify users where required by law.
We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where feasible, via in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
